Detroit actively contributes to the global dialogue around contemporary art culture through MOCAD, the Museum of Contemporary Art. Since it’s founding, MOCAD fuels crucial dialogue, collaboration, and public engagement. In the fall of 2011, we were invited to design the communication tools for the split exhibition featuring French artist Stéphanie Nava in Considering a Plot (Dig for Victory) and a collection of artists whose work spanned nearly eighty years in Barely There II. Working with Nava’s original illustrations, we built a visual identity to encapsulate the dual show. Our work included a double-sided poster that efficiently transformed into a self-mailing invitation, architectural signage and museum wayfinding systems.
