WITH GLEANERS COMMUNITY FOOD BANK OF SOUTHEASTERN MICHIGAN

Graphic Design to convey impact and support fundraising goals.

Gleaners Community Food Bank works with 520 community partners to distribute food across Southeast Michigan. Together, they serve 430,000 people, which is two-thirds of the region’s food-insecure population. As economic challenges persist and food costs rise, Gleaners remains focused on improving food access and reducing hunger.

When Gleaners launched a new strategic plan and embarked on a capital campaign, The Work Department designed materials to support these efforts.

To facilitate adoption of the new strategic plan across the organization, we designed a brochure and poster that presents the plan with clear language, structured design, and engaging illustrations. The brochure folds out into a poster and breaks down key concepts in a way that aligns with how staff think about their work. It includes data on who Gleaners serves, outlines Gleaner’s approach and goals, and broadens the conversation around who experiences food insecurity in our region.

We also developed materials for Gleaners’ capital campaign, including a campaign slide deck and a printed storybook for donor outreach. Both tools integrate key data, photos, and messaging to outline the campaign’s goals and impact.

These communication materials helped Gleaners share its priorities and engage key audiences in its work to reduce hunger.
